Which teams play in the 2012 Super Bowl means a lot to fans, but it won’t matter much in terms of the broader economic impact for central Indiana, says UIndy’s resident sports marketing expert.

Associate Professor Larry DeGaris told WISH-TV on Monday that the attention surrounding the Feb. 5 event poses enormous opportunities for local companies regardless of who ends up on the field. “Whether it’s moving a plant here, getting business for your existing business, developing relationships, your supply chain, now we’re on display,” he said.
